We’re located on the historic Fortin homestead in Lincoln County, now listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Dept. of Interior.
Blarney Ranch is a small-scale operation, meaning our cattle are raised by people you know and trust. And we’ll always do it this way because it’s our passion and our purpose.
We raise a heritage breed of cattle, called Dexter, originating from pre-industrial Ireland. Once called “hardy mountain cattle,” Dexter cows produce rich, delicious, healthy meat.
We use controlled grazing techniques that are modeled on the natural, regenerative cycle between soil, plant, animal, and steward — making each one more healthy with each rotation.
From their first day on grass to their final trip to the processor, our cattle are raised by hand and stewarded by people who believe in doing things the right way.
We rotational graze our cattle, moving them every day to a fresh paddock, which increases the diversity of their diet and allows long rest periods for our grass to regenerate.
We raise cattle that rotationally graze on the latent, local seed bank of grasses and forages. In other words, they eat the field, the whole field, and nothing but the field — right here in your own backyard.
